Animal Reiki

Animal Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive practice that supports relaxation, trust, and emotional balance in animals. Rather than directing or imposing energy, this approach is based on presence, observation, and allowing the animal to lead the experience.

At Ocean & Earth Wellness, we practice Animal Reiki through the Let Animals Lead Method, which is rooted in respect for the animal’s autonomy and natural communication. Sessions are always guided by the animal’s comfort and willingness, creating a safe and supportive space for them to relax in their own way and time.

This work can support animals in a variety of settings, including companion animals, rescue environments, and wildlife contexts. Each interaction is approached with patience, awareness, and deep respect for the individual animal.

Animal Reiki is not about fixing or changing the animal. It is about creating a calm, grounded presence where they can feel safe enough to simply be.

How Animal Reiki Sessions Work

Animal Reiki sessions are always guided by the animal’s comfort, interest, and willingness to engage. There is no force, expectation, or attempt to direct the experience.

Sessions may take place in person or at a distance, depending on the situation and the needs of the animal. In all cases, the focus is on creating a calm and steady presence that allows the animal to relax in their own way and time.

During a session, the practitioner observes carefully and offers gentle energetic support while respecting the animal’s signals and boundaries. Some animals may choose to rest nearby, interact, or simply remain in their own space.

Each session is unique and unfolds naturally. The role of the practitioner is not to “do” to the animal, but to hold space with awareness, patience, and respect.

Stormi and Bella, two dogs, resting back to back at ease after animal reiki

Meet Stormi and Bella.
Just 2 weeks ago, Stormi and I moved into Bella’s home - her family had to leave and couldn’t take her along. Stormi has vision loss and normally needs a few days on leash to get accustomed to new surroundings. But Bella wasn’t ready for a new housemate - resource guarding, biting, real aggression. So Stormi stayed on leash for the first week, just to keep both of them safe.
With consistent training and regular daily reiki sessions, that shifted fast. By the end of the week, the guarding stopped, the biting stopped and the leash came off for good.
Now they are completely inseperable - and we are one very happy little family.
